在世界文学史上，有很多经典，值得用时传颂，他们实际上是为人类表达着某种心声。就如泰戈尔，他用优美的语言，讲述爱情，讲述人间美好与凄凉。《摩可摩耶》的那种故事，其实在世戒的很多角落一染发生，人们注重的是美的外表，当这表象的美不存在的时候，很多事情会随之改变。自尊与承诺是人类的基本需要，这些东西一旦被打破，生命很可能都失去意义。《喀布尔人》讲述的则是人泪平等的故事，并没有那个种族高于其他种族的天然。《劳动者的天堂》则给人们描述了艺术对人类的重要性。

泰戈尔最为吸引人的就是那优美的文字。在国内有很多关于泰戈尔文字的翻译，可能还是冰心翻译的一稿最为优美。
